October Afternoon is doing an 8-day countdown with sneaks leading up to an online event at 11:00 am Central Standard Time (10:00 on the east coast, noon here in Denver, and 1:00 for all you west coasters) on Monday, February 16th.

When I Was Small

7th Birthday

This kid:


Had a basketball birthday party:

But requested a map cake (decorated by dad):

All of this took place the day after his actual birthday, when he got to go out to dinner at Rioja, shared the Rioja Picnic with his dad, and then had the special: pork belly with chicken confit and brussels sprout pot pie. Our server didn't know it, but she had him at "brussels sprouts." Life is never dull with Eli around! :)
