All of this took place the day after his actual birthday, when he got to go out to dinner at Rioja, shared the Rioja Picnic with his dad, and then had the special: pork belly with chicken confit and brussels sprout pot pie. Our server didn't know it, but she had him at "brussels sprouts." Life is never dull with Eli around! :)

People with birthdays in January (especially at the very end) are, in general, very cool. My birthday cupcakes, though yummy and covered in sprinkles, paled in comparison to that cake however. Note to self: next year celebrate with Eli. :)
