Scrap Recap

 Where Has Vivian Been?

"How has Vivian not found time to post here in over a month?" you ask. Well...early August attendance/facilitation at teacher professional development, a week in New England, a week in DC, plus an insane week and a half of back to school/back to work with a cold and car troubles on top of that. (Thank goodness for cough suppressant and long weekends!) I'm posting a major scrap update today with work I've done for all of my teams and will aim to get some summer travel recap stuff up here soon as well as a post with non-team layouts I've done recently.

Scrap Recap

In reverse chronological order:

1. I had a layout featured today on the Bella Blvd blog:

2. On Monday, I contributed a layout to an October Afternoon blog post:

3. The September gallery at Write.Click.Scrapbook. launched on the 1st. The theme this month is "Looking Back," which was a perfect excuse for me to raid my mom's stash of photos from my childhood:

4. Speaking of Write.Click.Scrapbook., I hosted one of the last Summertime Daily blog posts there last Wednesday, focusing on scrapbooking school memories. I'll post my layout from the blog post here, but be sure to check out the post on the Write.Click.Scrapbook. blog to see two more layouts from my contributors.

Many Things to Report

First, I still haven't gotten to that South Dakota trip update I promised last week. I think that's because I never put it on my to do list and I am living by my to do list these days (actually, my three to do lists: work, scrapbooking, and personal).

Second, be sure to check out the August write.click.scrapbook. gallery launch. This month's gallery features seasonal (summer) projects. Here's the layout I contributed, but be sure to check out the whole gallery for loads of inspiration!

Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye, American Crafts, Echo Park + Chipboard: My Mind's Eye + Stickers: American Crafts + Mini Clothespins: Canvas Corp + Ribbon: May Arts + Twine: May Arts + Fonts: Dock 11, Typenoksidi

Third, the images for the four new lines are up on the October Afternoon website! I didn't get to work with these lines for the CHA show this time around due to the timing of my California vacation. I was a little sad, I will admit, as I think this might be October Afternoon's best release yet! I will post the logos and collection kit images here along with my three favorite papers/products from each line. If you want to see more, just click on over to the October Afternoon website to see the lines (once you're in each collection, you can click on each product to see a more detailed view).

1. Witch Hazel

My three favorites from this line include...

Gleam of Moon patterned paper (A and B sides, love that moon!):

Miscellany (so many fun bits and pieces here!):

Doo Dads (love the titles on the library card and tape):

 2. Midway

This is my favorite of the new lines. Bright colors? Check! Whimsy? Check! What's not to love? My three favorites from this line are...

Sew Fun Banners (this includes little bits of most of the fun patterns in this line):

Washi Tape (I am loving the speech bubble trend, and this is no exception!):

Neon Lights Patterned Paper (A and B Sides, love the brights on one side and the softer colors on the other side):

October Afternoon's Christmas lines never disappoint! Here are three favorites from Make It Merry...

Make a Countdown Patterned Paper (A and B sides, love the versatility of the numbers!):

Make a Gift Patterned Paper (A and B sides, adore the text A side!):

Red Sled Label Stickers (love that they are all red!):

Another line with wonderful colors and a little bit of whimsy. Three favorites from this line...

Wheelbarrow Patterned Paper (A and B sides, I especially love the seed packets on the A side):

Tin Pins (so many layout possibilities here - cooking, farm visits, grocery store, gardening, school, playing cowgirl, etc.):

Here and Now Chapters (love the gorgeous patterns and vintage images):

Happy August!

Busy Summer, Lots of Inspiration!

Less than a week after returning from our trip to California, we headed off to South Dakota this past Saturday for a long weekend in the Black Hills and the Badlands. We got back last night but I still haven't loaded up all of our photos. Stay tuned for a trip post from me sometime later this week and expect lots of photos of wildlife. :)

Meanwhile, a couple of scrapbook-related things today:

1. I have a tutorial up on the October Afternoon blog today that makes use of leftover Sticky Keys as masks. Here's the layout, be sure to check out the October Afternoon blog for details:

2. Endless Inspiration Week continues on the Bella Blvd blog this week. Be sure to check back every day for new projects and inspiration!

Off I go to catch up on laundry, work, and life!
