Nuts About Nutmeg

Yes, I know it's been a while - a long while since I've posted here. Work has been beyond busy and since my last post three of us have had H1N1, there was one middle-of-the-night ER trip for a high fever, one middle-of-the-night ER trip for an allergic reaction with hives and shortness of breath, a trip to attend a wedding in northern California, and a trip to attend a wedding in Newark (with sightseeing in New York City as well, of course!). Seth has also attended two conferences, one in Toronto and one in Ohio. Needless to say, there hasn't been much time for anything much beyond the day-to-day. Well, until this weekend!

I came back from the kids' soccer games yesterday to a package on my doorstep containing Cosmo Cricket's new Nutmeg line. Can I just say that it's even better in person than in pictures online?! I am completely nuts about Nutmeg! I made four layouts and three cards with it yesterday. Two of the layouts seem to need something so I'm going to sit on those for a bit before posting. I will, however, share the other two layouts and the three cards, and will also post the work I did yesterday with Cosmo Cricket's Jolly By Golly line. Yes, that's right, I made five layouts and four cards yesterday.

Squirrel Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard

Bird Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard, Scenic Route buttons

Chipmunk Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard

Briefly: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper, SEI letter stickers, Scenic Route buttons

Leaf Play: Cosmo Cricket patterned papers, American Crafts fabric and vinyl letters, Scenic Route buttons

Note From Santa: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard, American Crafts foam alphas, Making Memories tiny alphas

For You Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned papers, Scenic Route buttons

I promise to try to post (and scrap!) more often now that we're through the crazy busy stuff around here!

Drumroll, Please!

And the winner is...

Kristii! Please send me your address (vmasket@comcast.net) and Road Map will be en route to you shortly!

Apologies for the lack of additional projects posted - this has been a busy busy week, but today is a "no plan" day so there will be scrapping time today for the first time since last Saturday!

Wanna See the New October Afternoon? Wanna Win Some October Afternoon? (*Drawing Closed*)

October Afternoon released three new lines at CHA in Orlando last month and I've been playing with two of those lines: Report Card and Farm Fresh. As always, October Afternoon has a great mix of themed papers and coordinating versatile patterns.

This first layout uses papers from the Report Card line. My favorite paper from the line is called "Recess" and is designed like a board game; I cut a few of the game spaces out and lifted them on pop dots to embellish my page (the three small yellow rectangles). I also used the Label Journal as a template to cut the shapes at the top and bottom of the page.

The second layout uses Farm Fresh papers (aren't the farm animals cute?!) mixed with stickers from the Road Map line (Winter 2009 CHA release):

Now that you've seen the new lines, post a comment here by midnight Mountain Standard Time telling me which of the new lines is your favorite. I'll do a random drawing on Sunday morning and one of the lucky commenters will win an 8" X 8" Road Map Paper Pad and a set of Road Map Clear Stamps (see images below).

I'll be back on Sunday morning to announce the winner. I might also be back before then to show you another project or two with the new lines! ;)
