Travel Girl and Daily Flash in My Hot Little Hands...

Yup, that's right. My box came on Thursday, and I put together this layout for today's inspiration piece challenge on the October Afternoon blog:

I used spray ink differently on each of the three tags - at the top, from left to right - an even coat, a masked portion, misted from further away:

Here are the Travel Girl products I used:

Travel Girl Plane Ticket

Travel Girl Guide Book

Travel Girl Train Case

Travel Girl Postcard

Travel Girl Shape Stickers

Travel Girl Tin Pins

Travel Girl Doo-dads

Travel Girl Tidbits

and here are the Daily Flash products I used:

Daily Flash Travel Catch Phrase Stamp

Daily Flash Snapshots Snap Caps

Daily Flash Snapshots Flash Blurbs

I love how these two lines combine and can't wait to cut into both collections again!

Pebbles Mix and Match Monday

It's Mix and Match Monday on the Pebbles blog. I combined products from five different Pebbles collections to create this set of two cards:

Here's a closer look at each individual card:

The cards are built on card bases from the Basics Cardmaking Pads, both Pad 1 and Pad 2:

These pads are fabulous resources, as they include such a great mix of colors and basic patterns and coordinate with multiple Pebbles lines. For my cards, I grabbed two small-scale tone-on-tone polka dot print card bases and rounded the corners for a unique look. These card bases really make it easy to quickly pull together colorful cards!

Be sure to check out today's post on the Pebbles blog for more information about my cards.

My Favorite Mid-Season Release

Mid-season releases will be hitting stores soon, and here is the one collection (besides the Pebbles and October Afternoon collections, of course) that I am coveting:

The Pier, from Crate Paper:

Frankly, they had me at the logo. I immediately thought of summer and birthdays and loved the color palette. Here's a look at the collection as a whole:

As I looked more deeply at the products in this line I was struck by the sheer genius of many of the patterns, which take trends and turn them on their head. For example, while hexagons have been popular for a while, I can't remember anyone else interpreting them as beach umbrellas:

Another paper from this line combines two popular trends that have been around for a while: doilies and clouds, leaving me to wonder why I have not yet before seen doily clouds:

One more fun paper from The Pier takes the chevron trend and turns it into a flock of birds:

The embellishment I love most from this line is the set of slide frames, which nest to create lots of fun combinations:

This line is clever, colorful, fun, and offers lots of possibilities.

What mid-season releases are you eagerly awaiting?

October Afternoon Sketch: A Whimsical Card

Today is the weekly sketch feature on the October Afternoon blog. I had a lot of fun with this week's sketch and created a fun and whimsical card using October Afternoon's Midway line:

Be sure to check out the post on the October Afternoon blog to see the sketch and a card from my fellow team member, Roree Rumph, who went in a very different direction with the sketch.
