A Very Merry and Krafty Christmas

Given that we don't celebrate Christmas at my house (well, save for Santa and lots of baking), I sure make a lot of Christmas layouts! I just can't resist those festive red and green papers and accessories! Here are three layouts I made with kraft cardstock backgrounds and October Afternoon's Very Merry line:

Sugar Rush: October Afternoon Very Merry Word Stickers, Label Stickers, Shape Stickers, and Alpha Stickers; American Crafts ribbon and Delight Thickers; Doodlebug jewels.

3rd Annual Cookiefest: October Afternoon Very Merry Word Stickers, Label Stickers, Shape Stickers, and Alpha Stickers; October Afternoon Mini Market Alpha Stickers; October Afternoon Tab Book; Making Memories Slice Fa La La Cartridge (reindeer shape); Doodlebug jewel.

Peppermint: October Afternoon Very Merry Shape Sticker, Flashcard Book, and Fill the Stockings Patterned Paper; October Afternoon Mini Market Alpha Stickers; Bon Appetit Chocolate Peppermint Bark Cookie Recipe (trust me, file this one away for next Christmas...or for tomorrow...you won't be sorry!).

She Read the Title

Definitely the best part of this layout was the fact that Sadie looked at it and read the title. Proud mama here. :)

October Afternoon Report Card patterned paper, flashcard, and stickers (smiley face, star, and ledger numbers); October Afternoon Road Map letter stickers.

Box Arrived This Week...

With lots of new October Afternoon embellishments. :) One of the things I love best about October Afternoon is that Kim designs her lines with colors that carry over from one line to the next. It's so easy to mix and match lines as a result, and I find myself turning to older lines and my October Afternoon scraps stash whenever the new lines come out.

For example, when I saw the Very Merry Wild Cards:

I went immediately to my scraps from the Good Cheer line, tore up a bunch of little scraps, grabbed some ribbon, and came up with this card in no time at all:

Also, when I started thinking about doing a first day of school layout with the Report Card line, I immediately thought of the Cherry Hill apple paper, dictionary paper, and die cut sheet:

Combining all of these products (plus the Mini Market Alphas and Word Stickers from the Farm Fresh line) I ended up with this:

Off I go to do some more mixing and matching!

Nuts About Nutmeg

Yes, I know it's been a while - a long while since I've posted here. Work has been beyond busy and since my last post three of us have had H1N1, there was one middle-of-the-night ER trip for a high fever, one middle-of-the-night ER trip for an allergic reaction with hives and shortness of breath, a trip to attend a wedding in northern California, and a trip to attend a wedding in Newark (with sightseeing in New York City as well, of course!). Seth has also attended two conferences, one in Toronto and one in Ohio. Needless to say, there hasn't been much time for anything much beyond the day-to-day. Well, until this weekend!

I came back from the kids' soccer games yesterday to a package on my doorstep containing Cosmo Cricket's new Nutmeg line. Can I just say that it's even better in person than in pictures online?! I am completely nuts about Nutmeg! I made four layouts and three cards with it yesterday. Two of the layouts seem to need something so I'm going to sit on those for a bit before posting. I will, however, share the other two layouts and the three cards, and will also post the work I did yesterday with Cosmo Cricket's Jolly By Golly line. Yes, that's right, I made five layouts and four cards yesterday.

Squirrel Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard

Bird Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard, Scenic Route buttons

Chipmunk Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard

Briefly: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper, SEI letter stickers, Scenic Route buttons

Leaf Play: Cosmo Cricket patterned papers, American Crafts fabric and vinyl letters, Scenic Route buttons

Note From Santa: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and chipboard, American Crafts foam alphas, Making Memories tiny alphas

For You Card: Cosmo Cricket patterned papers, Scenic Route buttons

I promise to try to post (and scrap!) more often now that we're through the crazy busy stuff around here!

Drumroll, Please!

And the winner is...

Kristii! Please send me your address (vmasket@comcast.net) and Road Map will be en route to you shortly!

Apologies for the lack of additional projects posted - this has been a busy busy week, but today is a "no plan" day so there will be scrapping time today for the first time since last Saturday!
